the most likely devices that are troublesome with libre distros
are wifi and graphics - the only device that you mentioned,
which i know of off-hand, is the AMD RX580 - that is actually the
most powerful graphics card which can run with 3D acceleration
using the libre driver

for any other devices, there are two easy ways to find out for
yourself - one is by searching the h-node database - you know
the model numbers, so that should not be much trouble - the other
way is to download and boot one of the graphical parabola LiveISOs

just choose a category, then enter the model into the "model name"
search box - for example, if you click "video cards" and enter
RX580 into the search box, you will get this entry:

if your device is not listed, that does not imply that it wont
work - the database includes devices that are both known to work
and known to not work - a missing entry only means that no one
has added it yet - keyboards, mice, sound cards, for example are
very universal - most will work, and few are listed

Just to be clear, wrt the RX580, when you say "can run with 3D acceleration", should I expect performance decreases? Freedom is most important to me, but one thing I need is the 4 monitors this GPU outputs for my engineering workflow.
