Explainations for non-free software

hcqnguzi - almost 3 years ago -

Is there a place where I can find an explanation of why each package that your-freedom conflicts with is considered non-free? Some of the software on the list is obviously non-free (e.g. is under a proprietary license), but some of it seems to be libre but is still on there.

the blacklist information is in the file:

/usr/share/doc/your-freedom/blacklist.txt

each line represents one package - on each line, if 'parabola'
appears between the second and third colon (':'), and there is a
number following the third colon, that refers to a ticket on the
bug tracker with more detailed information

eg:

atom::parabola:1002:[uses-nonfree] depends on nonfree electron

refers to:

https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/1002
