Changing Screen Resolution Crashes Xserver

JonQuan - almost 5 years ago -

I've been using Arch for about 6 months, but I am kind of a newbie when it comes to Parabola and OpenRC. Anyways, on any Desktop Enviroment when I run "xrandr --output HDMI-1 --mode 1920x1080_60.00", it instantly crashes Xserver and I have to restart the Xserver. What is going on here?

the screen resolutions that can be used will depend on the
graphics card, which driver is in use, any special driver
options your graphics card requires, and maybe even which xserver
you are running - make sure you are using the correct driver and
settings, and if you are using wayland, try xorg

if you installed parabola using the LXDE installer, then you
have the lxrandr program which does its best to offer only the
modes that are possible
