The MacBook-like laucher (wbar) keeps disappearing due to segmentation fault
AdamHoles - almost 5 years ago -
I updated Parabola with
$ sudo pacman -Syu
then I rebooted Parabola.
After booting, wbar is not in the middle of the bottom of the screen as before, but in a separate window, as shown in the screenshot.
I got an error, while trying to upload the screenshot.
I changed the screen resolution to 640x480 in order for me to be able to upload the screenshot.
I uploaded a screenshot from before the update.
In its github site https://github.com/rodolf0/wbar I haven't found any users' guide.
When I show the desktop with Windows + D or the two windows icon at the top left of the screen, right from the terminal icon, wbar as well disappears.
I have to minimize all the windows one by one, if I want to use wbar, in order for wbar to not disppear.
I want wbar to be again in the middle of the bottom of the screen, and not disappear after minimizing all the windows with a keyboard shortcut, or by clicking on the two windows icon.
How to do that?

that is curious - ive never seen that before - is it persistent after a reboot?

It was persistent, when I ran Parabola in VirtualBox in Windows 10, but later I installed Parabola instead of Windows 10 on my laptop.
The new problem is, that the MacBook-line launcher keeps disappearing after a while. And I had to reboot my laptop to bring the MacBook-line launcher back. Is it a bug, or a feature? I found documentation by entering:
$ wbar --help $ man 1 wbar $ man 1 wbar-config
but I haven't read them yet. Should I set the number of animated icons to a higher value? How? I brought back the MacBook-line launcher by entering wbar to the command line. I think it will also work by entering wbar after the Alt + F2 keyboard shortcut. After closing IceWeasel I got the following error message: Szegmentálási hiba (core készült), which means Segmentation fault (core was made).

there is an open bug report about 'wbar' - the bug that was
causing it to crash should be fixed in 'wbar-2.3.4-4'
