Redmine Packages - Bug #3588 (fixed): [flashrom-stable] Supplanted by flashproghttps://labs.parabola.nu/issues/35882024-02-18T21:46:33Zwael

Seeing as flashprog is the continuation of what was flashrom-stable, this package can be now removed.
Packages - Bug #3586 (not-a-bug): [clamav] Outdated, vulnrablehttps://labs.parabola.nu/issues/35862024-02-18T21:18:35Zwael

The packaged version is terribly outdated, and potentially open to many vulnerabilities, not least of which: CVE-2024-20328.
I've sent a patch on the dev mailing list to update it.
I have not managed to get it to build, as there is an issue with the json library dependency, though it is a start nonetheless.
Packages - Bug #3582 (not-a-bug): [egypt] Outdated.https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/35822024-02-13T19:44:20Zwael

I'm opening this issue here since the packaging request emails seem to have gone unanswered for a long while.
I'll list why I attempted to package each one along with the link to the list message:

Forking off from issue #3368 as the scope is different (as bill-auger pointed out).
I've found that this is indeed caused by OpenSSL marking whirlpool as legacy and moving it to the legacy provider.
Yet the details aren't fully clear, according to cryptsetup documentation it relies on libgcrypt, which seems to be yet to deprecate whirlpool.
Anyone affected by the boot bug, please chime in with details of your setup so we might be able to unravel the root cause.
Packages - Packaging Request #3359 (fixed): [bombadillo] Package bombadillo terminal browser for ...https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/33592022-10-06T13:17:52Zwael
I've tested and attached the PKGBUILD.
The rationale behind this ticket is having one browser that is:

Available on the command line

Supports gemini and gopher at once.
As there are currently other browsers packaged in Parabola, but they only apply to one of the points above: not both at the same time.
It also has the added benefits of supporting the finger protocol and browsing local files.
If telnet is available on the system then it can also be opened in it and that also goes for the web if lynx, w3m or elinks are available on the system.

I have tried to kick-start documenting usage of Parabola on such systems as they offer more freedom to the user and most documentation is scattered and littered around different forums and places, some of which have long been defunct.
I've additionally acquired two more Lirebootable systems that I shall start documenting soon.
Yet when it comes to other such similar laptop systems, the only one I have access to is an Asus C201 chromebook, which I shall only document after support is added back into Libreboot (as there have been a lot of changes from 2016).
I hope people with such relevant systems can document them to make on-boarding users of such RYF-compliant systems much easier.
Packages - Bug #3295 (confirmed): [gajim] Requires gtksourceview4https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/32952022-06-12T15:46:05Zwael

Doesn't launch without installing gtksourceview4, should be added as a dependency.
Packages - Bug #3294 (fixed): gmid needs rebuild because of new libretls versionhttps://labs.parabola.nu/issues/32942022-06-06T17:05:00Zwael

steps to reproduce:

expected result:
gmid to keep working

actual result:
gmid fails to start because it cannot find libtls.so.22.
Need to rebuild against newer libretls version.

ECtool is GPLv2-only free software as part of the Coreboot project for managing the embedded controller.
It is mostly useful for Laptops, especially since Coreboot doesn't implement SM-API (being a security hole and proprietary spec).
Thus, through EC-tool users can still get the same functionality without dangerous and potentially non-free SM-API code.

I've written and attached a PKGBUILD file for it, and tested it on my Librebooted T400 Parabola system.
Packages - Packaging Request #3206 (fixed): [intel-phc]: for undervolting 2nd gen and older Intel...https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/32062022-03-27T07:37:02Zwael

Hello,
I would like to request the packaging of intel-phc from the AUR.
Relevant URLs are in the attached file.
And the license is GPLv2-only.

This patch/driver allows the under-volting of Intel processors in the following families:
Mobile Centrino, Core/Core2, Atom (N2) and first and second generation Core i.

This would be quite useful in Parabola as I imagine many people run systems on top of Libreboot, which would benefit from this package a lot.
