Redmine Packages - Bug #1954 (fixed): [nonprism/california] needs reubilding against new icu versionhttps://labs.parabola.nu/issues/19542018-08-15T20:13:47ZToffeeYogurtPotsalexdowson@mailbox.org

When updating nonprism/california I get the following:

":: installing icu (62.1-1) breaks dependency 'icu<62' required by california"

Package needs rebuilding against the latest icu, same as the iceweasel issue.
Packages - Bug #1740 (fixed): [libre/openttd] depends on old icu versionhttps://labs.parabola.nu/issues/17402018-04-17T21:24:42ZToffeeYogurtPotsalexdowson@mailbox.org

icu strikes again:

[user@hostname ~]$ openttd
openttd: error while loading shared libraries: libicui18n.so.60: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Presumably needs rebuilding.
Packages - Bug #1697 (fixed): [libre/hardinfo] needs rebuilding against new icu libraryhttps://labs.parabola.nu/issues/16972018-04-10T23:00:00ZToffeeYogurtPotsalexdowson@mailbox.org

Hardinfo is and has been broken since the last icu update. I'm on x86_64. Probably just needs a rebuild.

I'm using Rofi to launch applications, though I'd guess this would happen in any desktop environment.

HP Device Manager usually doesn't show any logo. However, after the last update the HP logo appears in Rofi. Can anyone else confirm this? Surely this goes against freedom 2?
Packages - Packaging Request #1670 (open): [tomate-gtk] add package and python dependencies to PCRhttps://labs.parabola.nu/issues/16702018-03-21T16:45:22ZToffeeYogurtPotsalexdowson@mailbox.org

This has always confused me, why is there no tlp init script for OpenRC? It's included in Gentoo and Atrix and should be pretty easy to add. Hyperbola devs probably need this too.

Steps to create:

cd into /etc/init.d/

Create a blank file called "tlp" (e.g. "nano tlp").

Paste the following script:

#!/usr/bin/openrc-run
# Copyright 1999-2015 Gentoo Foundation
# Distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License v2
# $Header: $
description="TLP start/stop actions"
depend() {
after modules
# sysfs is required (bat thresholds); localmount:/usr
need sysfs localmount
# thinkpad-radiosw (USE=deprecated)
use acpid
after NetworkManager dbus bluetooth
# run after xdm to avoid bluetooth/wwan/... race-condition with gdm
after xdm
}
start() { /usr/bin/tlp init start; }
stop() { /usr/bin/tlp init stop; }
restart() { /usr/bin/tlp init restart; }

Correct the permissions of the new init script with "chmod 755 tlp"

Run this sed command "sed -i -e 's/\r//g' /etc/init.d/tlp" (for some reason OpenRC gives me a permissions error if I don't do this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯).

Now test with "rc-service tlp restart".

Packages - Bug #1602 (open): [ntp-openrc] ntp-client starts before network is fully initialised.https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/16022018-01-02T06:40:04ZToffeeYogurtPotsalexdowson@mailbox.org

I have ntp-client added to the default runlevel. When my system boots I get:

Setting clock via the NTP client 'ntpdate' ..
Error resolving 0.gentoo.pool.ntp.org: System error (-11)
Error resolving 1.gentoo.pool.ntp.org: System error (-11)
Error resolving 2.gentoo.pool.ntp.org: System error (-11)
Error resolving 3.gentoo.pool.ntp.org: System error (-11)

Failed to set clock

ERROR: ntp-client failed to start

However, when I run it manually ("rc-service ntp-client restart") after booting I get no such error and the clock is adjusted as expected. I assuming that the network isn't ready for ntp-client when it starts.

I am on an SSD so it's possible that it's just "too fast" but I wonder if the init script needs tweeking, maybe some network script needs to be added to the "after" in /etc/init.d/ntp-client line.
Packages - Bug #1594 (fixed): [base-openrc] Error updating user groups "/usr/bin/sysusers: line 1...https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/15942017-12-22T17:06:52ZToffeeYogurtPotsalexdowson@mailbox.org

This error happens on a new installation if you try to install the base-openrc package group. I've tested it on my main machine and a (as plain as possible) virtual machine. This doesn't interfere with installation but once you boot the system you will be unable to create any new users since the user group does not exist: "useradd: group 'users' does not exist".

I've attached an image with the exact error. Not sure what package in the "base-openrc" group triggers this.
Packages - Packaging Request #1589 (open): [ttf-librebaskerville] add font to PCRhttps://labs.parabola.nu/issues/15892017-12-21T09:21:37ZToffeeYogurtPotsalexdowson@mailbox.org

Really nice alternative to Baskerville. Thought it was already in the PCR but it doesn't seem to be.

Description: Libre Baskerville is webfont optimized for web body text (typically 16px).
Forgot to report this. California fails to start on a fresh Parabola install.

[user@hostname ~]$ california
california: error while loading shared libraries: libical.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Packages - Bug #1570 (not-a-bug): [libre/hplip] missing "*.PPD" file for HP LaserJet 400 M401n.https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/15702017-12-15T17:17:45ZToffeeYogurtPotsalexdowson@mailbox.org

This issue is present on both Parabola and Arch. I can confirm that it does work with the free HPLIP driver as it works on Trisquel 7.0, is listed here https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index and a very similar model (with almost identical formatter board) appears on h-node where it is confirmed to work with Trisquel 5.5 https://h-node.org/printers/view/en/717/LaserJet-Pro-400-M401dn/1/1/undef/undef/undef/Ethernet/compatibility/undef

Steps to reproduce:
1. Attempt to set-up HP LaserJet 400 M401n via 'hp-setup'.
2. Click 'next' once it discovers your device.
3. 'hp-setup' will fail to find the "*.PPD" file and prompt the user to manually select it, though it does not exist. There is "hp-laserjet_400_m401dne-ps.ppd.gz" but this is incompatible with the M401n.

'hp-setup' output:
error: No PPD found for model laserjet_400_m401 using old algorithm.
error: No appropriate print PPD file found for model hp_laserjet_400_m401n
error: No PPD found for model laserjet_400_m401 using old algorithm.
error: No appropriate print PPD file found for model hp_laserjet_400_m401n
Packages - Packaging Request #1563 (open): [redshift-wayland-git] Add package to Nonprism (withou...https://labs.parabola.nu/issues/15632017-12-10T21:26:40ZToffeeYogurtPotsalexdowson@mailbox.org

Redshift now works with Wayland, provided you add these patches from Git. I don't think it's a branch, I think these patches have been applied to the main branch.
