UPnP is not a particularly secure protocol, unless you configure extra layers of security on top of it.

The following packages which implement UPnP should be added to the blacklist:
-
gerbera

-
gupnp

-
gupnp-av

-
gupnp-dlna

-
gupnp-igd

-
gupnp-tools

-
libupnp

-
libupnp-debug

-
mediatomb

-
minidlna

-
miniupnpc

-
miniupnpd

-
python-miniupnpc

-
rygel

-
ums

When running the update on a armv7h device, it errors with 404 and the package fails to be downloaded, causing the update to error and fail. After further inspection of https://repo.parabola.nu/core/os/armv7h/zstd-1.5.2-2-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz and the file tree, the package seems to not be in the repos as it is for the other architectures. Looking at other mirrors in sync, it is not there either. Not sure if its intentional or not.

From a conversation on the FSDG mailing list:

http://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/gnu-linux-libre/2016-04/msg00070.html
http://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/gnu-linux-libre/2016-04/msg00116.html

A lot of programming languages have own packages managers: npm (CSS/JavaScript), Bower (Web), pip (Python), RubyGems (Ruby), CPAN (Perl), Cargo (Rust), many more. These things would qualify as "repositories" under the Free System Distribution Guidelines; and most do not limit themselves to only including free software. Until/unless Stallman's ideas of either convincing them to only include free software or develop a free replacement come along, I propose disabling such things in Parabola.

UPDATE 2023-06:

See this wiki page for repo evaluations, solution proposals, and the current state of progress of each.
https://wiki.parabola.nu/TPPM_Liberation_Project

UPDATE 2023-06:

there is an on-going discussion on the FSDG mailing list - GNU is currently working on a solution for cargo - RMS is involved with the FSDG mailing list discussion and is suggesting that we move forward with this project - he has (amazed me) suggesting to stay with the weakest proposal: "do nothing - continue ignoring it" as we have been, at least until each can be addressed properly

bill-auger and gnutoo still would rather exclude them all ASAP, pending a better solution - bill-auger still believes that the ideal solution above all, is to exclude them permanently and accept packaging requests for desirable language-specific library packages
