• clone abslibre.git or abslibre-mips64el.git
• add, remove, checkout, status, diff
• commit
• push, pull
• format-patch, send-email
• sending ssh keys to the list
• then propose on list deprecating and removing libretools scripts wrapping git

Possible benefits:

• easier to contribute
• higher change history quality, more available reasons for changes (so easier to fix future bugs)
