[lxdm-gk3] on i686 fails to start correctly with no visible error

Description
steps to reproduce.
install lxdm-gtk3 on i686 systemd system
reboot
never reach login screen no visible error
launching X or X running lxsession manually all work fine
switching to lxdm (non-gtk3) with pacman -S lxdm alleviates the problem.
testing yesterday lxdm-gtk3 was failing out with an "exit code: 1" message in the log.
Today is seems to just hang. Had to CTRL-C to stop strace.
