Bug #2064
ModemManager crashes sddm login
0%
Description
System: Desktop x64 Intel i5-3470, 8GB DDR3-RAM, Parabola GNU/Linux-libre OpenRC Edition sddm+KDE5 connected trough LAN and no modem installed
After booting system, it looks like there is no dm installed, because it tells me first only "host login:" and then it jumps to:
host login: ModemManager1818: <info> Couldn't check support for device '/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:19.0': not supportet by any plugin
nm-dispatcher: req:3 'up' [enp0s25]: new request (1 scripts)
nm-dispatcher: start running ordered skripts...
nm-dispatcher: req:4 'connectivity-change' : new request (1 skripts)
nm-dispatcher: req:4 'connectivity-change' : start running ordered sktipts...
then it does nothing more.
If I press Enter it jumps to "host login:"
then if I type something, it starts sddm.
It looks like the pci devices is the onboard networkcard, but I'm not able to unistall ModemManager

anon7mous -
could you elaborate? - are you saying that either 'sddm' or 'modemmanager' require 'haveged-openrc' to be installed and running? - if that is true, then 'haveged-openrc' probably should be added as a dependency of one of 'sddm' or 'modemmanager' - i would not consider the issue 'fixed' unless it actually works as expected for everyone
