Description

Some packages have ethical issues. I have found these issues in two packages, which are games which require player’s gender (always binary), which is not character’s gender. There is people with non‐binary genders. Even if those genders are included, it is still incorrect.
1. manaplus. On registration, player is asked for gender. This gender is used as character’s default gender. It is not possible to change this gender.
2. xonotic. Player can select gender. I don’t know does it affect anything.

the "parabola social contract" governs the constraints between what are and are not appropriate programs for the parabola system - if the program is in accordance with acceptable the "parabola social contract", then there is no imperative to keep nor discard it - this particular concern is a matter for discussion perhaps, but there would need to be an amendment to include "ethical" issues as part of the promise to the community

also, wouldnt this particular concern be better addressed to those game developers? - that would fix this problem for every distro - yes?
