System is updated, it's reproducable just by trying to run it.

What I was saying above:

in my fully up to date i686 Parabola system 0 errors occur when I run smplayer. So it looks like something with your system

Please try:

sudo pacman -Syuu

This will also downgrade any packages that are above what Parabola is offering. Making sure you are inline with the repos.

-Syyuu reports there's nothing to do

Then we need to figure out what is bent in your system.

but first:

edit your /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

so only Server = https://repo.parabola.nu/$repo/os/$arch is uncommented

and

sudo pacman -Syyuu

this may be an issue with an out of sync mirror

s/smplasyer/smplayer

Have you installed any foreign packages?
$ pacman -Qm

I didn't install anything from aur - the only time these could have been installed is when I had to disable package verification and rebuild keys or pacman woudln't install any updates.

Looking further into it I remove

parabola-theme-blackmate and parabola-laf - both of which depended on qt5-styleplugins but don't seem to be in any of the repos...

When I remove qt5-styleplugins both smplayer and octopi work but everything is dead ugly and white and I can't reinstall it because parabola-laf and parabola-theme-blackmate don't seem to be in the repos. :)

'parabola-laf' and 'parabola-theme-blackmate' are in the [pcr-testing] repo
