<ul></ul><p>Basde on suggestion from alfplayer in IRC chat, this may be a necessary step after each kernel upgrade (when new linux-libre versions are installed), for users of GPT and syslinux bootloader.</p>
<p>After pacman -Syu, issue this command:<br />syslinux-install_update -iam</p>
<p>If you forgot to do it and you system is unbootable, boot into the Parabola CD and:<br />mount /dev/sda1 /mnt (your root partition)<br />mount all other partitions to their respective subdirectories under mount. For example:<br />mount /dev/sda2 /mnt/home<br />swapon /dev/sda3</p>
<p>arch-chroot /mnt<br />syslinux-install_update -iam<br />(also check that your syslinux.conf is correct)<br />exit<br />umount /dev/sda2<br />umount /dev/sda1<br />swapoff -a<br />(basically unmount your partitions)</p>
<p>then:<br />reboot</p>

<ul></ul><p>This could have been caused by the recent syslinux upgrade to version 5. If that was the problem, this bug shouldn't appear again on this system.</p>
