I got around this error removing
-p "$BUILDFILE"in this line at the end of my makepkg.conf
DLAGENTS+=({https,libre}'::/usr/bin/librefetch -p "$BUILDFILE" -- %u %o'

This is using libretools 20141128-1. I'll test if it remains after upgrading libretools.

Upgrade to 20150105.1.
Most of the changes in 20150104/20150105/20150105.1 were making librefetch work with makepkg 4.2.0. This particular bug is because of a change in how it parses DLAGENTS
