I found this solution somewhere on the Internet, but I’m not sure it’s correct. There was no error after booting the system https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/OpenRC/Baselayout_1_to_2_migration

tells that your network didn't start. That's eth0.

eth0 is there but its not started.

Make a symlink in /etc/init.d/ that links net.eth0 to net.lo. Now add net.eth0 to the default runlevel.

# login: root
# passwd ****
root # cd /etc/init.d
root # ln -s net.lo net.eth0
root # rc-update add net.eth0 default

this solution automatically enables the interface
and I see a message when loading

I found on the site that this is Bug #3030 https://labs.parabola.nu/journals/16288/diff?detail_id=8419
This bug was discovered 3 years ago!
But I don't see what's the solution??
Troubleshooting : RE: MTP - How to transfer files between Android and PChttps://labs.parabola.nu/boards/5/topics/1669?r=1673#message-16732024-03-15T08:18:49Zprobiermas

Hi Sam, thank you for the hint. I also tried android-file-transfer and added my user to adbusers-group, but unfortunately I couldn't solve the problem from then on.

In the meantime bill-auger could help me with a workaround for problems with gmtp:

pacman -U https://repo.parabola.nu/pool/archlinux32/gmtp-1.3.11-3.1-i686.pkg.tar.zst

So luckily I was able in the end to access my cell phone via gmtp.
Troubleshooting : ERROR: netmount needs service(s) nethttps://labs.parabola.nu/boards/5/topics/1666?r=1672#message-16722024-03-14T22:17:14Zsam

Hello . Thanks for the answer .

I checked your command:

$ for service in $(rc-service -l | grep net) ; do echo -n "$service " ; rc-service $service status ; done

all services are disabled.

net-online * status: stopped
net.lo * status: stopped
netmount * status: stopped

I tried running net.lo and adding it to the download, but it didn't work either.
I thought maybe the problem is due to the fact that I did not install networkmanager , but installed dhcpcd instead?
When I try to check the dhcpcd status I can't do it..

$ rc-service dhcpcd status
rc-service: service 'dhcpcd' does not exist

but I can update the system and download programs

$ $ doas dhcpcd eth0
$ doas pacman -Syu
Troubleshooting : RE: ERROR: netmount needs service(s) nethttps://labs.parabola.nu/boards/5/topics/1666?r=1671#message-16712024-03-14T15:42:43Zbill-auger

offhand, the message seems to be suggesting that some program wants to start the 'netmount' service, but it will not start because the 'net' service is not running or is not available - so maybe try starting the 'net' service - if it is successful, try adding it to the default runlevel

i do not have a 'net' service; but the 'netmount' service is running

$ rc-service -l | grep net
net-online
net.lo
netmount
network
xinetd
$ for service in $(rc-service -l | grep net) ; do echo -n "$service " ; rc-service $service status ; done
net-online * status: stopped
net.lo * status: started
netmount * status: started
network * status: stopped
xinetd * status: stopped

Hi, you can use android-file-transfer https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Media_Transfer_Protocol . you need adbusers ( groups)
Troubleshooting : MTP - How to transfer files between Android and PChttps://labs.parabola.nu/boards/5/topics/16692024-03-13T12:36:36Zprobiermas

Hello everyone,

I use an x60 Thinkpad with i686 system. Recently I tried to connect my phone to the PC and transfer files. I tried out several mtp programs (mtpfs, jmtpfs, gmtp) but I still get something like the following output in terminal:

jmtpfs ~/mtp

Device 0 (VID=3360 and PID=2008) is UNKNOWN in libmtp v1.1.21.
Please report this VID/PID and the device model to the libmtp development team
Android device detected, assigning default bug flags
fuse: bad mount point `/root/mtp': No such file or directory

I edited the 69-libmtp.rules file in /etc/udev/rules.d like this:

ATTR{idVendor}=="3360", ATTR{idProduct}==2008, GOTO="libmtp_rules_end"

Do I also have to edit the 51-android.rules?

Or do I really have to contact the libmtp development team to solve this issue?

Thanks for your help!

Hello Bill.
Thank you for your answer .
Sorry for not informing me about the installation. I installed ISO Parabola Net Install https://repo.parabola.nu/iso/x86_64-systemd-cli-2022.04/ with OpenRC +Luks1 (boot) .
I have an Internet connection and can update the system and download programs. I would like to understand what this error means and why it appeared after installation in order to correct my installation.

is it a problem? - is there some feature of the OS which you would like to use, but that does not work as expected?

also, if there is a problem, you would need to describe which "the system" that you installed - there is not only one "the parabola system" - for example, if you installed systemd vs openrc, that error could be indicating something very different - it would also be important to know which arch (eg: x86_64) - it may also be important to know which ISO you used, and when you installed
Troubleshooting : ERROR: netmount needs service(s) nethttps://labs.parabola.nu/boards/5/topics/16662024-03-09T12:38:13Zsam

Wael, thank you very much for the advice. Yes, I would change the background, to be honest, I like the old option)) maybe I haven’t chosen something else yet.

I would like to draw your attention (I already wrote about this in the instructions) that in the latest versions of Libreboot there is no grub.cfg file, but if you include it in flash memory, it works as a priority one.
This information is not on the Parabola wiki.

I can copy all the instructions here if needed for users to use.
Troubleshooting : RE: Grub secure boot with GPG ( Libreboot)https://labs.parabola.nu/boards/5/topics/1647?r=1653#message-16532024-02-27T19:52:25Zwael

Off of the top of my head, at least for changing the image:
Libreboot and its derivatives use a very specific scheme for the background, the image is either called background.png/jpg (both formats work AFAIK).
Though the devil is somewhat in the details, as GRUB is somewhat limited in what it can use (better consult GRUB documentation on that).
Assuming the ROM image is called boot.rom, you can use cbfstool to insert the image as such:

cbfstool boot.rom remove -n background.jpg
cbfstool boot.rom remove -n background.png
cbfstool boot.rom add -n background.png -f background.png -t raw

Note that I've put commands to remove both png and jpg since both might be present, though for the insertion it suffices to have just one type.
Obviously, to apply the changes you'll have to reflash the ROM - presuming that you haven't locked your flash descriptor, then you can do that by a soft-flash.
Troubleshooting : Grub secure boot with GPG ( Libreboot)https://labs.parabola.nu/boards/5/topics/1647?r=1652#message-16522024-02-27T10:15:33Zsam

Hello Wael. Thank you for your answer.
Finally I managed to write my question after many trials of registrations))

While I was waiting, I wrote detailed instructions about all the tests using Ht, here you can see this link => https://forums.hyperbola.info/viewtopic.php?id=1010

If you notice any errors or have any comments, write to me and I will correct it.
I am sure that this will be useful to many users, as I see a lot of unanswered questions on this topic!
Troubleshooting : RE: Grub secure boot with GPG ( Libreboot)https://labs.parabola.nu/boards/5/topics/1647?r=1648#message-16482024-02-24T21:34:58Zwael
