For example, "No video with supported format and MIME type found." error in hooktube. Note that the package ffmpeg2.8 is not installed.

I had been seeing this only on x86_64, but am now also seeing it on i686.

Here's the warning message that can be seen in the Web Console on https://joinpeertube.org/en/home/#getting-started (and other web sites which are unable to play the video):
The video on this page can’t be played. Your system may not have the required video codecs for: video/mp4; codecs="avc1.64001e", video/mp4

The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported.

This appears to be due to missing support of FFmpeg 4.0 (libavcodec/libavformat v58) in Firefox 59. See bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1435212
Simple rebuilding won't help, but the issue will likely be resolved when Iceweasel catches up to the latest version of Firefox.
