Description

To reproduce, set a few workspaces to have different background images. I use a randomizer to switch between photographies.

When switching between the workspaces and a new image has been loaded randomly but not displayed to you the user yet, it lags in showing itself which looks ugly.

I am not seeing behaviour that would match this description on a newly installed xfce4 in a VM?

Please provide a clearer discription of the issue and more information about your setup, What randomizer are you using?

Saw your additional question now. I use "XFCE Settings -> Desktop" and then tick "Change the background" and "in minutes:", 5 minutes + tick "Random Order". Load in a few high res images in a folder and select that folder in the drop down "Folder:". I also use "Style:" "Zoomed" and untick "Apply to all workspaces".

This is what I was trying and the only lag I saw is of the type that one would expect when running a VM on older HW. I'll Try it again on Actual (not Virtual) hardware when I get the chance.
