Won't load some web pages, loads others partially, won't reload some, load others very slowly. Seems to be missing plugins (java?).

This is not a helpful bug report in it current state.

Please update it with.
What type of machine x32? x86_64? ARM? # of cores, amount of ram, etc ( these are particularly important in reporting "slow" behaviour)
Example sites
Steps to reproduce the problematic behaviour
Also epiphany is tied fairly tightly to Gnome. Arre you using the Gnome DE? (if not you could be missing optional dependencies that are causing issues)

As for the plug-in Java is considered a hidious security risk as a browser plug-in and has needed manual intervention to install in any modern system. Any site requiring you to have a Java plugin in your browser should be shot, Or at least avoided if possible.

Seems to work fine for me.

x200, Intel core 2 duo, x86_64, 4Gib ram
Sites tested
Duckduckgo
Youtube
CNN

Happens on two different systems, to varying degrees on various sites:

ASUS X200CA core 2 duo x86_64 4GB
Parabola Enlightenment DE

Dell 13 7000 core i5 x86_64 8GB
Manjaro Budgie DE

This is a site that often hangs on Refresh command:

https://www.theglobeandmail.com

This site often fails to load all still images:

https://www.cbc.ca

This site is slow to load and often drops a connection to server:

https://mail.tutanota.com/login

The issue is generalized. I could list dozens of sites.

the listed sites load fine for me, could it be something to do with your internet connection? do you have a program running taking bandwidth?

#5

Yes, sometimes they load fine, sometimes not. Did you try the refresh command, especially on the Globe & Mail site? Did you see ALL still photos on the CBC site?

I think there is nothing wrong with my internet connection nor do I have a bandwidth hog running. These issues don't arise with Pale Moon browser or the browser on my iPhone.

Also notice that it's also happening on the Budgie DE which is, in fact, based on Gnome. In fact, in Setting > Details the window shows Gnome: see attached. So it would seem not to be an integration problem with Gnome.

Globe and mail loads and refreshes fine here.

CBC.ca is missing some elements (but I know from experience that CBC does a bunch ob BS stuff that drive non big 3 browsers batty so that doesn't suprise me that much)

tutanota loads fine as far as I can go (I'm not going to created an account just to test a browser)

I elieve you about the issues but I'm having difficulty reproducing them,

Since we are on fairly similar HW I've been mulling my in-ability to reproduce some of the problems you are having. I'm wondering if you have compton or some other compositing engine running. I do not. My X set-up is rather minimal. Perhaps that is where the difference lies.

I do not have a compositing engine running on either system. Curiously, Eolie browser, which is a very direct derivative of Web doesn't seem to delay and stall as badly as Web.

It's very puzzling because I have not had any similar behaviour from any other browers that I have been working through to finally settle on one that suits how I use one (Firefox, Ice Weasel, Pale Moon, Midori, Vivaldi)

If this issue is indeed idiosyncratic to my system or some error that I have made, it may not be worth your time to continue trying to identify what's happening. The problems with Web are too intolerable to continue with it, so I have reverted to Pale Moon, which is not endorsed by FSF but it does purport to be to some extent "open source" and at least it works reliably in my system. Thank you for looking into it.

marking as invalid for now as just Llewellen seems to be having the issue. And I and pribib where unable to reproduce.

For the record the report is not "invalid" - I have not imagined this. It is "unconfirmed" or "unable to reproduce".

Did not intend to imply that it was not real. I do not have the options you suggest to mark it in that way. Invaild was the best of a limited selection.
