Description

As the title says, I have a hard time using the actual drawing board in Krita. See attachment.

Trying the in a VM from the latest systemd-lxde with resolution set to 1280x800 which is less the the OP screenshot does not display this behaviour.

Is your monitor configured correctly? (wrong DPI perhaps)
Is your video subsystem configured correctly?

Will need more info or someone else to try and reproduce this behaviour.

How do I correct my monitor DPI and what do you mean by "video subsystem"? The other programs (all except Krita) uses an approved (by me) screen space for working with.

This and a few of the other you mentioned sound like they could be due to incorrect setting for your xserver or for the software components it depends on (fonts,mesa,drivers,etc). For example the Laggy background image switches may be due to a lack of accelleration or buffering.
