Using latest linux-libre-hardened kernel causes CPU fan to malfunction on a X200 w/ Libreboot

Description
I was using the latest version of the linux-libre-hardened kernel, version 4.19.4.a_gnu-1, and was running CPU intensive processes when I noticed my laptop was becoming significantly hot. I checked the output of lm_sensors and it showed that my fan was at 0 RPM. Switching back to the normal linux-libre kernel fixed the issue. This is dangerous and can cause permanent damage to the CPU and other chipset components.

as i understand it (maybe megver can elaborate on this), the hardened and xtreme kernels require some configuration - there are many things that will not work OOTB - your ACPI or whatever could be one of those things - i.e. this could be perhaps not a bug, but a support request

It would be good if baconicsynergy can test if the same happens with the non-free linux-hardened kernel. Because if it does, then this bug should be reported to the linux-hardened devs. If it doesn't, then it may be a problem of linux-libre + hardened patch
