System upgrades are stagnant because the latest poppler in the repos (0.73) would break texlive-bin and cups-filters (and maybe other packages I'm not aware of):

if you take a look at https://www.parabola.nu/packages/libre/i686/texlive-bin/ and https://www.parabola.nu/packages/libre/i686/cups-filters/ at the dependencies listing, no link to poppler is shown (because of the old version which doesn't exist on repos).
