Packaging Request #3073
Include Lagrange gemini browser
0%
Description
Hello! It would be nice to have Lagrange, Gemini protocol GUI client, on PCR. It's free software and doesn't rely on nonfree libraries (afaik), but further inspection is required. If I understand PCR correctly as meaning “Parabola community repository”, then I think that package would fit there. I took the PKGBUILD file from the AUR.

Sorry for the title. I discovered Amfora was already on the community repo, and forgot to remove it from the title.

Yes!

this software is extraordinarily well-licensed for a permissively-licensed program - even most of the fonts come with license notices - a few do not; but i see no serious problems with it overall
it appears to support gopher also, so this will be a nice addition - we added a gopher server a few months ago

it appears that some of the required, dependencies were not actually used - according to the README, the AUR PKGBUILD compiles the vendored harfbuz and fribidi; so it does not actually depend on those packages in the depends array - we prefer to use system libs whenever possible; so i deleted the vendored libs and configured it to use the system libs

as the package maintainer, i would suggest to offer my PKGBUILD to the AUR maintainer - you may find collaboration with the AUR maintainer to be beneficial
