Description

Please could you consider, As there are currently no activitypub "fediverse" servers, would it be possible to request the packaging of epicyon, its a lightweight server designed without the need for java script just HTML+CSS (which avoids running proprietary java script) and suits running on low resource servers such as single board computers and older hardware etc. It has few dependencies and all of which it appear met in parabolas repos already. It appears it is licensed under AGPL.

Info and the gitlab repo is provided here:

https://epicyon.net/

https://gitlab.com/bashrc2/epicyon

It would be great to have this in parabola to run on ARMv7 boards especially as activitypub is getting a lot more press these days and epicyon appears well suited to providing this without the usual issues surrounded by non-free javascript and lots of dependencies.

Many Thanks
Ryry

so this appears to be a light-weight replacement for fediverse blogging, ala mastondon, gnu-social, etc?

Indeed, It seems that this is the case, doing what you'd expect from a micro blogging experience like mastadon and gnu-social, but It also allows longer post style blogging to be made in to activity pub feeds to. I Found this post, which suggests the developer tried plemora, but designed epicyon to be simpler to maintain and good for small devices.

EDIT 22062023 The packaging request can be probably be closed now as I see that gotosocial went into the arch repo's and now we have it and that is designed to fill the same function.

P.s I tried adding a reply to this issue, but doesn't seem to have an option.

Many Thanks Ry
