Rebuild cups (or cups-filters?) against libtiff

Description

  • steps to reproduce:
    1) print a pdf file
  • expected result:
    file gets printed
  • actual result:
    cups says "filter failed". In the log:
    D [24/Jan/2023:07:14:09 +0100] [Job 196] <edited: printer name>: error while loading shared libraries: libtiff.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    D [24/Jan/2023:07:14:09 +0100] [Job 196] PID 4417 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/gstoraster) stopped with status 127 (File too large)

can you confirm that 'cups-filters' 1.28.16-3.parabola1 fixes he problem?

if not, could you be more specific, especially about step 1 "print a pdf file"?
  • which program or command prints "error while loading shared libraries: libtiff.so.5:"?
  • which PDF file?
  • does every PDF file print the same error?

i dont have a printer; but evince can print a PDF file to new file - i assume that exercises the same plumbing
- i suspect that to expose this bug (reproducibly), the PDF file would need embedded TIFF data
