Some of kde apps (from libre repository) caused dependency problems.
Here's the error message:

this general issue affects many (perhaps most) q- and -k-things and their dependents - many packages will need to be rebuilt - im determining the full extent now

It seems like kopete is obsolete due to its obsolete dependency khtml [1].
We should drop kopete as upstream did it.

the thing to watch for though, when something like this is "dropped" or "deprecated" by the upstream, often it has simply been renamed or replaced with a similar program, which may have the same freedom issues as the original - in this case, this is/was the standard KDE IM program - so what is the standard KDE IM program now, and is it fully libre?

I don't think there's one now. There are separate apps for
IRC (Konversation), Martix (NeoChat) and Jabber (Kaidan)
so they don't include Skype support.
There's a micro-blogging client (Choqok) with Twitter support
but it has been patched.
