could you please explain this - nothing in any of those screen-shots looks to me as "lousy" or "bad"

In that case, get your eyes examined. The windows are cramped and shrunken automatically. The sidebar looks really ugly and it's hard to see. The "kwallet" thing pops up all the time which is annoying and unnecessary.

ok - so it does not "runs badly" - it "looks badly" ?
the only screen-shot that looks wrong to me is the first one; but that is only because the window is too small - if you grab the window corner with the mouse and enlarge it; that would probably be just fine
about the "KDE wallet" thing - it says clearly that this program wants to use the "KDE wallet" program - there is probably something that the 'choqok' program does that would not work without a "KDE wallet" setup - i dont know what this 'choqok' program is for, or why it needs a "KDE wallet" to be setup; but it probably is a necessary part of the program, or else it would not keep asking
i think "KDE wallet" is like "gnome keyring" - it is a way of remembering passwords - once you setup a "KDE wallet" it will probably stop nagging you to set it up

I want to see everything in a window by default. I want to see a sidebar's indicators. I want to freely choose if I am to use a keyring or not.
It's just unacceptable to me.

ok but those are probably all things that only the original authors can change - so probably you could, as easily as i could, bring the issue of the small settings window to their attention and ask them if the program can be used without "KDE wallet"
they have an IRC channel on freenode #choqok and a mailing list https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/choqok-devel - that is probably the most that either of us could do about this

I have tried adjusting DPI with xrandr, it does nothing visible to me. My resolution is 1920x1080.

If it did nothing visible then your system didn't pick up the change you probably need to make a custom config file for Xorg and adjust it so X sets it correctly when it starts.

this is only still saying "info needed" because i dont know if there really is anything that can be fixed in parabola or if the upstream should change something
the next step would be to denote it as a "bug" or "upstream" but it is not yet clear which to do
except for the config panel that starts too small, i suspect that program looks exactly how the authors intended it to look
it the interface elements look over-sized, it is a possibility that the developer of this program uses an hi-def monitor and assumes that everyone else does; so everything is too large for most screens but just right for a hi-def screen - maybe the requested size of that config window is actually larger than your screen can fit and it is scrunched for that reason because the developer never imagined anyone that uses twitter would have a normal sized screen

The most important things are the size of the windows which you already addressed, the prompting of a "KDE wallet" for 5-6 times that you have to hit ESC before the program window launches and you can start using it. The graphical mess is also not going to get rated high amongst user interface critics but as long as I can reach the authors and forward this.
How do I contact the authors?
